“COME ON! COME ON!! DIE!!!” he yells, laughing. Feet propped up on the desk and leaning back in his chair, he is ready for action. His thumbs pound the screen, making ironically soft sounds as his character’s chunky metal armor collides with a magnetized platform. “Now I have enough scrip to get my second suit!” He lets out a long “Aaaawwww yeahhhhhhhh!” and nods his head in proud approval.
Shervin Pishevar, Founder and Executive Chairman of SGN, is playing the company’s latest game, “EXO-Planet Elite.” Originally released in April for the iPad, it made its iPhone debut last month with two versions: $4.99 EXO-Planet Elite and free-to-play EXO-Planet. Shervin has watched the game grow from a raw idea to a full-blown zero-gravity shooter — a unique approach to a classic genre. And he couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
“Of the different shooters out there, we knew EXO-Planet would be special from the start because of its unique blend of 3rd
Person perspective in zero-gravity environments,” says Chief Creative Officer Eric Lindstrom. “With Flying Wisdom Studios, we had a design solution for easily navigating a complex space where players can stand on walls and ceilings.” The team quickly settled on EXO-Planet’s “look and feel,” and once the design direction was established it was time to play—kind of. “We were convinced that we were on to something at the start of the project, but it was only when we actually started shooting each other in text levels that we knew we’d captured lightning in a bottle.”
Though we can’t promise we’ll be handing out lightning in a bottle anytime soon, we can share some inside hints to help our fans succeed in EXO-Planet. First tip: don’t judge a suit or weapon by its coolness. Every suit and weapon is unique and to excel a player must understand his or her gear. For example, the Juggernaut suit is great for absorbing damage but will slow you down – so be sure to choose your weapons wisely. Next tip: upgrading is important! If you get the rockets, fully upgrade them for a significant increase in power. Another key item to update is your grapple; as Eric says, “If you want to upgrade anything first, update your grapple speed. That will help you advance faster and improve your game overall.”

All I ask for is more. More weapons, more maps, more suits, more tools. The grapple is neat but what’s next? Is the grapple really the only way of travel? Think about that.
